WATERFRONT ESTATE
This in-progress design on the eastern shores of Vashon Island, WA reimagines a mid-century shoreline home sitting unusually close to the water, where every move requires technical precision and regulatory care.
By understanding the bones of the existing structure, we’re able to intervene surgically—expanding and refining the plan to better support the clients’ indoor–outdoor way of living with an emphasis on gathering around, growing, and celebrating great food.
When the site is defined as much by its environmental protections as by its extraordinary setting, every design move must count. Under these circumstances, the existing house guides the transformation as much as we do.
